about

artists, tools, links, challenges and questions put together by Majena Mafe for emerging artists playing in the fields of art and reseach...

'the most important art lesson I could give you would spark something in you that makes you think - think beyond your thinking, think so big it makes something new... something that is so new ... that it would make a 'new' difference...'

researching instructions

browse aimlessly
browse with purpose
look up something through the labels (see below)
search the NY galleries (see below)
or the Berlin ones or...or...
read through the latest artforum (see below)
go to saatchi gallery and be critically delighted at his latest art investments
search through the blog archive for good older stuff
look up something you know naught about- cultural theory, feminist practice...copy-left
look up 'students art blogs and web sites (see below)
look at the pictures
look at more pictures
look at all the pictures
follow the threads
write down ideas
pinch ideas
read the techniques
learn code
answer the questions
look up art concepts and movements, but they're a bit dated
search for how to make an artists web site ....
