Paraphrase is a restatement of a text, image, sound or passage, using other means, sound and words. The term "paraphrase" derives via the Latin "paraphrasis" from the Greek para phraseïn, meaning "additional manner of expression". The act of paraphrasing is also called "paraphrasis."
